José Rocks the Races.

(Video taken from the World Cup Mont-Sainte-Anne, Canada event)

José Hermida, the Mountain Bike Maestro from Girona is on a roll, and who would bet against it taking him through to a second World Champion's title later this year? Not us, that's for sure.

A trip east in early August saw the popular Spaniard sweeping to an impressive 6th place in the European Championships held in Dohnany, Slovakia, quickly followed by a well deserved 4th place at the Czech World Cup event in Nove Mesto Na Morave. Ominous tiding indeed for José's rivals, as the World Champion develops form in order to attain that most stripy of stripy jerseys, whilst at the same time, moving into fifth in the overall World Cup standings with one last race to go.

Speaking of the Czech World Cup result, the Multivan-Merida rider said, “Today I have felt more explosive and I could keep Kulhavy about 30 seconds for most of the race” before adding, “I’m not 100%, but I’ve felt a big improvement in comparison with last week. Today my riding was very fluid, i felt very focused … the feeling was great, but my best is yet to come”.

Indeed.
